Dr. Van Hare is Director of Pediatric Cardiology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine. He is the Co-Director of the St. Louis Children’s Heart Center. His clinical interests focus on heart rhythm disorders in children, and in adults with congenital heart disease; radiofrequency catheter ablation, cryoablation, pacemaker, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, (ICD), implantation and follow-up.
Board of Trustees (2017-2018)
Dr. Gold is Director of the Division of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has authored more than 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to over 30 book chapters.
Dr. Deering is Chief of the Arrhythmia Center, Chairman of the Clinical Centers for Excellence and Chief Quality Officer for Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta. He has served in a variety of volunteer roles within HRS. His research interests are focused on defining and implementing quality initiatives in electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Russo is Director of the Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services at Cooper University Hospital and Professor of Medicine in the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She has served on numerous HRS committees and task forces, including the Scientific Sessions Program Committee, and is a member of the HeartRhythm Journal editorial board.
Secretary and Treasurer
Dr. Krahn is Head of the Division of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He has published over 300 papers and 290 abstracts in peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation, JAMA and the New England Journal of Medicine.
Dr. Asirvatham is a professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases within the Department of Internal Medicine and a professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Day is Medical Director of Intermountain Heart Institute near Salt Lake City, Utah. He also serves as Visiting Professor of Cardiology at Dalian University of Technology in China, and is the co-director of the HRS/Chinese Heart Society/Great Wall International Cardiology Congress Joint Symposium in Beijing. His research interests include the study of atrial fibrillation and Alzheimer’s disease.
