Image & Identity Goal To be the international leader in science, education and advocacy for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. Sub-Goals - Continue to position the Society as the primary resource for information on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
- Develop and promote high ethical standards for the profession and quality standards of care.
- Increase international awareness of the Society’s programs and services.
Membership and Member Services Goal To recruit and retain members from targeted markets and develop programs and services to meet their needs. Sub-Goals - Define and serve the specialized needs of member subgroups.
- Enhance the value of membership.
- Grow membership 10% annually.
Educational Programs and Services Goal To provide year-round scientific and educational programs and services on cardiac arrhythmias. Sub-Goals - Expand the use of the web and other electronic media to deliver educational programs and services.
- Expand and enhance both clinical and research Fellowship programs.
- Create a comprehensive, year round educational curriculum complementing the annual Scientific Sessions.
- Create educational materials and programs to serve as preparation resources for standardized examinations.
- Ensure the timely development of relevant, credible products and services.
- Provide programs, products and services to meet the needs of high-priority nonmember markets.
Advocacy Goal To implement a proactive public health policy agenda. Sub-Goals - Advocate for basic, clinical and translational heart rhythm research that leads to enhanced knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and improved patient care.
- Assess members’ health policy needs to develop strategies to support advocacy.
- Assess the needs of underserved patient populations and develop strategies to support these populations.
- Define the workforce of the future to ensure quality patient care.
Strategic Alliances Goal To use strategic alliances to help fulfill the Society’s vision and goals. Sub-Goals - Collaborate with nontraditional partner organizations.
- Leverage COPE to build an international consensus for EP standards worldwide.
- Collaborate with local EP organizations to enhance the Society’s image and effectiveness.
- Increase collaboration with cardiology-related organizations to expand the Society’s reach.
Infrastructure Goal To implement an efficient and effective organizational infrastructure that supports the goals of the strategic plan. Sub-Goals - Develop and implement an effective Customer Relationship Management system to track information and leverage relationships with all Society and Foundation stakeholders.
- Develop a user-friendly website architecture to support the strategic goals of the Society and the Foundation, and meet the expectations of members and other stakeholders.
- Develop common structures and processes to support the goals of the Heart Rhythm Foundation and align its activities with those of the Society.
- Ensure the effective use and protection of Society and Foundation resources.
- Ensure appropriate governance and staff structures to support the needs of the Society and the Foundation.
