R. Hardwin Mead, MD reviews the basics of ICD reimbursement in this webcast, covering accepted implant indications and exclusions, primary versus secondary prevention, using The ICD Registry™ and billing for biventricular devices. Dr. Mead discusses presenting and documenting appropriate indications and exclusions, the need to be aware of coding nuances for primary prevention patients, using primary and secondary ICD-9 codes appropriately to ensure claims are accepted and encourages ethical standards for hospitals and industry.
