Activity Description:

An update of topics for electrophysiology, heart rhythm management and implantable device management.  The program will include separate sessions on atrial fibrillation and heart failure management with an emphasis on the use of CRT as well as a focus on therapies for bradycardia (pacemakers) and tachycardia (ICD).

There are case-based lectures included within each session.  It was determined from attendee response from the prior meeting that the case-based approach was very desirable and allowed them to integrate the didactic information into real-world scenarios at the same session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide attendees with an overview and state of the art management in the fields of atrial fibrillation
  • Provide attendees with an overview and state of the art in the fields of cardiac resynchronization therapy
  • Provide attendees with an overview and state of the art in the fields of low-voltage (pacemakers) and high-voltage (ICD and CRT-D) implantable devices.
  • Provide and display enhanced live transmission of cases.

Target Audience:

This will be a hybrid audience.  There are some sessions that are targeted at a more intermediate level that would be appropriate for allied professionals and general cardiologists that have some connection with device management and electrophysiology.  Other sessions are directed primarily at EP's, for example portions of the atrial fibrillation  section.

Accreditation Statement:

The Heart Rhythm Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
