Working in collaboration with related professional medical organizations, the Heart Rhythm Society will work to maintain and expand access to the use of cardiac catheter ablation as a reliable, efficient treatment for chronic or emergent AF. The Society also will continue to support the appropriate use of pharmacologic therapy to control and manage AF.
In addition to working closely with federal regulators and legislators, the Society will proactively engage in major national health plans in discussions regarding AF patient care protocols and when AF ablation would be considered medically necessary and optimum treatment. Heart Rhythm Society will be presenting strong information to these payer decision-makers that will support AF ablation as an accepted treatment option with a positive track record rather than an "experimental" approach to care.
