Program Description
This complimentary symposium* will address atrial fibrillation (AF) from a multifaceted, multidisciplinary approach. Participants will benefit from first rate knowledge of the guidelines and synopses of cutting-edge developments by the world's leading experts in AF. The program will examine variations among clinicians in these settings, looking at both gaps in knowledge of and adherence to current guidelines as it relates to the future of AF care and its changing climate within the EP and cardiology community.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize how new rhythm management and anticoagulation therapies may impact recommendations from the ACC/AHA/ESC 2006 Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
- Select appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options for the management of patients with AF
- Cite the advantages of new therapies for stroke prevention, including new anticoagulants, left atrial appendage occlusion, and aspirin plus clopidogrel
- Evaluate the predictive value of the CHADS2 stroke risk stratification system
- Recognize appropriate candidates for ablation
- Determine whether antiarrhythmic drug therapy or electrical cardioversion is best to restore sinus rhythm in patients who have AF
- Identify treatment options for difficult patients with AF

Registration is complimentary to attendees of the American College of Cardiology's 2010 Annual Scientific Sessions and will be available on-site.

Historically, there are a large number of on-site registrants; therefore, while those attendees who registered online will be given priority, it is important to arrive by 8:00 a.m. Registered attendees that arrive late will not be guaranteed a seat, and seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Accreditation
The Heart Rhythm Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate it the extent of their participation in the activity.
