ABIM CCEP Recertification Prep Course

Registration is now open for the Society's Board Review Course, which contains comprehensive content focused on preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification and recertification examinations in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Register by August 30, 2010 and receive more than $100 off registration fees (see below)!

For those not preparing for the exam, the course is an excellent update and overview of cardiac electrophysiology. Internationally recognized faculty have served on the ABIM CCEP test writing committee.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the current guidelines related to evaluation and management of patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances
  • Describe the role of electrophysiologic testing in managing patients with bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias
  • Identify the advantages and limitations of diagnostic electrophysiologic methods
  • Identify the role of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies for the treatment of arrhythmias
  • Recognize the basic electrophysiology and genetics of inherited conditions associated with cardiac arrhythmias
  • Interpret complex electrophysiologic and electrocardiographic tracings
  • Interpret stored electrograms from pacemakers and ICDs

Program Format
Lectures are supplemented with workshops using an audience response system (ARS) that allows interactive learning and in-depth coverage of exam content areas. The ARS facilitates audience participation and enables the participants to respond to questions and receive immediate feedback.

A hardcopy of all lecture and workshop materials are provided to all participants. An audio CD of the entire course will only be made available to attendees.
