The symposium, including include didactic lectures and panel discussions, case studies, and survivor stories, covered sudden cardiac arrest as it relates to patient experiences before, during and after hospital stay, including information on Acute Care, Therapeutic Hypothermia, Mechanisms of Ventricular Arrhythmias and Risk Stratification.

In conjunction with October’s national observation of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, the Society collaborated with SCAA to produce this symposium. SCAA identifies and unites survivors, those at risk of sudden cardiac arrest, as well as others who are interested in being advocates on SCAA issues in their communities and beyond.
