The Society's "Apples and Oranges" SCA Awareness campaign is intended to increase the overall awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) — October's designation as National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month provides an opportunity to launch an ongoing conversation with patients about the risks and treatment options associated with SCA. The Society is providing its members and other healthcare providers with education as well as resources that provide treatment information for patients who are at risk of SCA and other heart rhythm disorders:

A full day dedicated to continuing medical education, this program was a collaborative effort with Heart Rhythm Society and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association (SCAA). Navigating a National Approach to SCA Survival featured sessions on the recent advances in preventing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and treating SCA patients, the pros and cons of athlete pre-participation evaluations, genetic testing and identification of patient psychosocial issues and ways to improve patient outcomes.
