titlelines Remote Monitoring Education & Awareness
The number of follow-up visits for patients with a cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CEID) exceeds 5.8 million visits per year, and will continue to increase as more CEIDs (pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), or cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices) are implanted. As the number of device implantations continues to grow, subsequently increasing the need for device follow-up visits, clinics will look for treatment and management solutions in an attempt to maximize clinical resources and improve patient care.

The Society is pleased to provide education and awareness around the potential role of remote monitoring as it pertains to both patient safety and the ability to realize increased efficiencies in the care, management, and treatment of patients with implantable devices.

Remote Monitoring Clinical Brief

In the last decade, the number of device implants have increased, and clinicians are challenged to accommodate the subsequent increase of in-office visits. This Remote Monitoring Clinical Brief (a printable, single page document) demonstrates how remote monitoring systems have been shown to accurately report data stored in devices without office visits, and can assist clinicians with high-volume device patients to streamline delivery of care.

Interviews with Leading Experts on Remote Monitoring

Interviews with prominent clinicians, who are either experts on remote monitoring best practices or served as contributors to the TRUST Study, were conducted at the American Heart Association's 2009 Annual Scientific Sessions in Orlando, FL.
