Research Opportunities: Clinical Trials
The information on the Clinical Trial pages represent a preliminary list of electrophysiology trials that may be of particular interest to women EPs. This list is not comprehensive or even complete, but is intended as a starting point. This list was created by review of the studies registered on the NIH clinical trials website, or by word-of-mouth. We encourage women to contact Kristen Downey, of the Heart Rhythm Society, regarding any studies we have missed.
Clinical trials are included in the following areas:
- Ongoing Clinical Trials Initiated by Women EPs. Clinical trials listed here are ongoing studies that are run by PIs who are women electrophysiologists.
- Development Phase Clinical Trials Initiated by Women EPs. Women PIs for these studies have indicated an interest in identifying potential centers for their trials, but are not yet actively recruiting.
- Ongoing Trials of Gender-Related Differences. Studies listed here are specifically investigating gender issues in heart rhythm disorders, prevention or treatment.
- Other Ongoing EP or Device Studies. Look here for ongoing trials that are currently enrolling subjects in the U.S.
