What is FHRS?
As part of our continuing effort to elevate the prominence of the field of electrophysiology, the Society is pleased to offer eligible members the opportunity to become a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).
FHRS Recognition Guide
For those who have achieved the FHRS designation, the Heart Rhythm Society has created several tools and tips (FHRS-only, login required) to help make the most of your FHRS status.
|
The FHRS designation distinguishes members among health care providers for their specialization in electrophysiology, clarifies the referral process and serves as a credential for quality care for patients, media and government. FHRS members are characterized by advanced training, certification and prominence in research.
The FHRS criteria are tailored to the Society's diverse and international membership of physicians, allied health professionals and research scientists. They were drafted by working groups composed of distinguished volunteers from each of the Society's member segments and approved by the Society's Board of Trustees.
In July of 2011, a Physician Specialty Designation Code for electrophysiology was put into effect by the U.S. Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. The creation of this dedicated code was heavily influenced by the Society's advocacy efforts and solidifies the distinction of electrophysiologists to provide highly specialized, quality heart rhythm care. To reflect this important achievement, the FHRS credential exemplifies these attributes in training, certification and commitment to the field of electrophysiology.
