How long have you been a member of the Heart Rhythm Society?
I have been a member of the Heart Rhythm Society since 1985.

A useful place to update my knowledge and a wonderful opportunity to collaborate in participative work and teaching.
Why did you choose the field of electrophysiology?
I chose electrophysiology because I like the fact that it necessitates a great deal of knowledge and also combines deductive analysis and practical application in interventive cathertisation. This field of speciality, which is still in its infancy, has given me a great deal of satisfaction because I have been able to collectively participate in the revolutionary processes that are evolving.
How has membership in the Society been of value to you and your practice?
Being a member of the Society allows me to link up with my colleagues from every corner of the world, thus promoting interaction and consequently new developments in the field.
Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments.
- Head of the cardiology unit at the Princess Grace Hospital, Monaco
- Creation of and 1st President of the Society of Cardiology for Robotic Navigation
- Creation of a lecture and case base teaching course on arrhythmias, called the Monaco USA Arrhythmia Course
- Creation and participation in several humanitarian associations
- Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society
- Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology
- Fellow of the American College of Cardiology
- Member of the European Heart Rhythm Association
- Member of the French Academy of Medicine
More About Nadir Saoudi, MD, FHRS
Dr. Saoudi obtained his medical degree at the University of Paris Val de Marne and was an intern at Rouen University Hospital. He published the world’s first case of catheter ablation of an atrial flutter (1985) and the first description of an isthmus block in humans (1995). Additionally, he has authored and co-authored more than 180 research articles, over 275 abstracts and two books.
Dr. Saoudi is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania (School of Medicine of Philadelphia), former President of the Arrhythmia Group of the French Society of Cardiology, and has been awarded the French Legion of Honor and the Russian Sanitary Merit.
