Online Education
- SCA Case Webcasts
In addition to the new offerings listed above, the Society also offers a comprehensive list of didactic webcast presentations by leaders in the field of electrophysiology on the topic of SCA, archived from previous Annual Scientific Sessions, which cover key topics relevant to sudden cardiac arrest, including risk stratification, lead performance, and device treatments. - Sudden Cardiac Arrest Case Studies
These three interactive online case study programs, which offer CME and CE credit, allow clinicians to review clinical case-based scenarios and test their knowledge and aptitude on guidelines pertaining to primary prevention of sudden cardiac death:
Heart Rhythm Society Sketcher
The HRS Sketcher — available as an iPad and Desktop App — is an educational tool released in May 2011. The HRS Sketcher was developed to assist practitioners in explaining changes to the heart; health care providers can facilitate a dialogue with patients regarding SCA during diagnosis and follow-up. Visit our Education section to learn more about purchasing the app or to download a complimentary PC version.
SCA Patient Education Materials
In addition to our complimentary in-clinic resources, the Society offers a variety of patient education materials, including one-page downloadable patient information PDFs pertaining to sudden cardiac arrest and heart rhythm disorders (English and Spanish) available for clinicians to provide to patients and their families.
SCD Primary Prevention Protocol
The newly released 'Sudden Cardiac Death Primary Prevention Protocols' algorithm is a comprehensive response tool that is designed to increase accurate diagnosis and survival of individuals at risk of SCA.
SCA Risk Assessment Tool
- Patients who are concerned they may be at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest can use the Society's interactive resource to test their susceptibility and risk of being afflicted by SCA. Take the SCA Risk Assessment »
