Using Our Patient Information Website
Get started with the "quick links" listing on the home page (and below), or by the five main topic areas, The Normal Heart, Heart Rhythm Disorders, Symptoms and Diagnosis, Treatments and Risk Factors and Prevention.
These five main areas match on both the home page text area as well as the left navigation bar, which is permanent as you move through the site (see illustration). You can always return to the Patient Information "home" page by clicking on the words Patient Information in the left navigation, or in the top "breadcrumb" trail.
The breadcrumb trail (see illustration) is also a useful way to orient yourself as you move deep into the site. Clicking on any the links there moves you back and forth within this website.
Another area of the Society's website that patients may find useful is our Find A Specialist tool. This is a publicly searchable directory of the Society’s physician members (e.g., Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, Interventionalists, etc.) who have requested to have their contact and practice information listed for patient and physician referral purposes.
Questions, comments? Please e-mail us at info@HRSonline.org, although we recommend that those with questions or who need additional information should first check with their doctor's office.
Please note: this website is not intended to cover all aspects of any medical condition. It is generalized and is not intended as specific medical advice.
* What is electrophysiology? The cardiology field is commonly divided into areas including electrophysiology, which analyzes and treats the mechanism, spread, and interpretation of the electric currents that arise within heart muscle tissue and initiate each heart muscle contraction.
