2008 AHA/ACCF/HRS Scientific Statement on Noninvasive Risk Stratification Techniques for Identifying Patients at Risk for Sudden Cardiac Death

A scientific statement from the American Heart Association Council of Clinical Cardiology Committee on Electrocardiography and Arrhythmias and Council on Epidemiology and Prevention.  The statement reports the findings from a writing group convened by the American Heart Association (AHA), the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) and the Heart Rhythm Society(HRS).  The statement focuses on noninvasive risk stratification for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death and is limited to techniques for ischemic, dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies. The applicability of current noninvasive risk stratification are discussed, organized according to the type of testing required to obtain the information.
