The pocket guide, edited by Bradley P. Knight, MD, FHRS, FACC, was adapted from the ACC/AHA/ESC 2006 Guidelines for the Management of Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. This quick reference guide is intended to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with AF.
The following information is included in the pocket guide:
- General Approach to the Patient with AF
- Stroke Prevention in Patients with AF
- Ventricular Rate Control
- Restoration of Sinus Rhythm
- Maintenance of Sinus Rhythm
- Catheter Ablation
- Dosing Guideline for Drugs Commonly Used to Treat AF
Atrial fibrillation is an epidemic. It is the Society's hope that this tool will provide medical professionals with practical guidance when managing patients suffering from AF.
