The Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology sent a joint letter commenting on the proposed revisions to LCD DL13613 for Automatic External Defibrillators (AED).

Draft Local Coverage Determination Changes for AEDs — HRS & ACC Letter

In August  2011, the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) covering Region A released proposed changes (PDF, 129K) to the Local Coverage Determination (LCD) on Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs).

The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) submitted a joint comment letter. HRS and ACC do not support the proposed changes to the coverage policy and recommend that the current LCD remain unchanged.
