Need for Performance Measures of Heart Rhythm Care
On January 11, 2012, the draft Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) Pre-Rulemaking Report was posted on the National Quality Forum (NQF) website for public comment. The purpose of the MAP project is to provide input to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the selection of performance measures for public reporting and performance-based payment programs.
The MAP Pre-Rulemaking Report provides input on 368 performance measures under consideration by HHS for clinician, hospital, and post-acute care/long-term care performance measurement programs. In addition to providing input to the HHS on measures under consideration for 18 federal programs, the MAP Pre-Rulemaking Report provides the framework for aligned performance measurement that the MAP used to support its decision-making. The framework emphasizes person-centered measurement and cites care coordination as an example of an opportunity for performance measure alignment.
In response to this request for input, the Society provided comments on the pre-rulemaking report. Read the full letter » (PDF, 104K)
