CMS Announces “Qualified” Registries for PQRI Reporting
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the names of registries (PDF, 52K) that have become “qualified” to submit quality measure data to CMS on behalf of their eligible professionals for 2008 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) reporting.
Each of these registries has gone through a thorough vetting process, including:
- Checking their capability to provide the required PQRI data elements
- Reviewing a measure flow to check to see whether the registry calculates the measure’s reporting and performance rates correctly
- Transmitting the required information in the requested file format (XML)
Eligible professionals who wish to participate in 2008 PQRI using one of the registry-based options should check with the specific registry they are using or intend to use to verify which quality measures, reporting periods, and options the registry intends to report to CMS on their behalf.
The NCDR’s IC3 Registry is listed as a qualified registry for 2008 PQRI reporting and onward.
