2008

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month was passed by both the House and Senate (09/26/2008) — The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month Concurrent Resolution has been passed by both the House and the Senate. Congress is now supporting the efforts to educate people about SCA and to raise awareness about the risk of SCA, identifying warning signs, and the need to seek medical attention in a timely manner. The Society and SCA Coalition Offer Remarks at Press Conference on Josh Miller HEARTS Act (02/14/2008) — Representing the Heart Rhythm Society and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Coalition (SCAC), David Rosenbaum, MD, FHRS, Chair of the Heart Rhythm Society Research Subcommittee, offered a statement in support of HR 4926, the HEARTS Act, which would establish a federal grant program to enable the purchase of AEDs by elementary and secondary schools across the nation.
