Urge your Legislators to Co-Sponsor the Congressional Resolutions to Establish an Annual "National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Month"
The Society applauds the co-chairs of the Congressional Heart and Stroke Coalition, Representatives Lois Capps (D-CA) and Chip Pickering (R-MS) and Senators Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and Mike Crapo (R-ID) for introducing the House Concurrent Resolution 393 and Senate Concurrent Resolution which recognizes the establishment of a yearly "National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month" during October and calls for activities around the need for more public education, research and wider access to life-saving treatments for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).
E-mail your Representatives and Senators today asking them to co-sponsor this resolution.
“An SCA Awareness Month will provide a national opportunity to not only raise awareness and highlight the need for continued research; but also save lives,” said Dr. N.A. Mark Estes III, president of the Heart Rhythm Society.
