Society Proposes Trans-NIH Research Initiatives (06/11/2008) — In response to a National Institutes of Health (NIH) request for ideas for Common Fund / Roadmap Trans-NIH Strategic Initiatives, the Society's Health Policy Research Subcommittee submitted four proposals that meet the consideration criteria outlined by NIH. The proposals include a multi-system approach to a heart rhythm disorders initiative to develop inter-institute collaborations to accelerate the understanding and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, as well as the leading causes of mortality, morbidity and health-care utilization in the United States.
