Presentation Format
Each presenter is responsible for the design/format of their presentation. The Heart Rhythm Society is able to accommodate presentations that include video/sound. However, we require that presenters adhere to specific presenting instructions, which will be available March 16, 2012. In addition, all presentations are required to include the following:
- Title Slide — Include the title of the presentation, presenting author's first and last name, and institution
- Disclosure Slide — Presenters are only required to create a disclosure slide if their financial disclosure is different from the disclosure information submitted to OASIS. If a presenter has submitted his/her financial disclosure and has no further updates to report, the presenter does not need to create a disclosure slide.
Please use the 2012 Confirmed Faculty Itinerary Site and the Session Types & Specialty Tracks for information about the time allotted for your presentation. Information about how to submit your presentation(s) will be available March 16, 2012.
Translational Electrophysiology (TE) Session Information
Translational Electrophysiology (TE) sessions are intended to help scientists better frame research questions in terms of clinical problems, while enhancing the evidence-based practice of clinicians.
Instead of a Session Chair, we assigned each TE Session a "Translator," chosen for their recognized ability in applying fundamental scientific principles to the clinical practice of electrophysiology. Tasked with keeping the sessions as dynamic and interactive as possible, Translators will preside over the session and will interrupt speakers during their talks when "translatable" concepts are mentioned.
The format for the TE Sessions is listed below:
- Each Translator will be seated at the head of the table to maximize interaction with panelist during the entire session.
- At the beginning of the session the Translator will give a broad introduction to the field, using slides if desired: 5 minutes
- Each presentation lasts 15 minutes. Since the Translator will be interacting with the speaker, the total time allotted for each presentation is 20 minutes, so no more than 5 minutes of translator comments are allowed during or after each presentation.
- After all the presentations have been completed, the Translator leads a ten-minute attendee question and answer session, discussing and integrating content from all of the presentation, using slides if desired.
