Heart Rhythm 2008 for the Allied Professional will prove to be an exciting one! The Allied Professional working group designed a wide-range of sessions to cover the many aspects of an Allied Professional's career, from EP lab techniques to Heart Rhythm Society networking tips.

The Allied Professional track ensures a comprehensive educational experience offering a variety of sessions and formats, from an interactive mini-course about fundamentals in the electrophysiology lab to the ever-popular "Jeopardy" session, to test your knowledge about ICDs and tracings.

Session highlights include:

  • Interactive EP Basics
  • Workplace 2008: Device Evaluation and Managing Workflow
  • Lead Extraction: Concepts and Technical Considerations
  • Managing VT Storm, Recalls and End of Life Issues
  • Mind Over Heart in Adult/Grown Up Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD)

  • Thinking Outside the Box: Innovative Concepts to Improve Clinical Practice
    Thursday, May 15, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
    Topics include: the importance of developing a research idea, how to consult with industry and market your product.
  • How to Deal with End of Life: Patient Management and Device Deactivation Issues
    Friday, May 16, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m.
    Ethical and legal considerations of patient management and device deactivation issues will be examined.

  • Allied Professionals Lounge — Catch up with your friends and colleagues in this special area, located in Moscone Center (Room 105) on the lower level concourse between the north and south buildings of the Moscone Center, designated for allied professionals to meet and network.
  • Allied Professionals Orientation — Scheduled for Wednesday morning in Moscone Center Room 206, this session provides first-time attendees with tips to make the most of their Heart Rhythm 2008 experience.
