No one better exemplifies science, discovery and innovation than pioneering scientific researcher, J. Craig Venter, Ph.D., who published the first draft of the human genome in February 2001 and the first complete human genome in 2007. He is regarded as one of the leading scientists of the 21st century for his contributions to genomic research and is one of the country’s most frequently cited scientists.
As the Founder and President of the J. Craig Venter Institute, he has explored social and ethical issues in genomics and alternative energy solutions through microbial sources.
Named one of TIME Magazine’s “Most Influential People” in 2007 and 2008 in the Scientists and Thinkers category, the Society is honored to have this pioneering and thought provoking scientific researcher kick off Heart Rhythm 2009 on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 4:15 p.m. in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
