The Heart Rhythm Society’s Annual Board Review Course is the preferred resource for physicians seeking a comprehensive review of content focused on preparation for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification and recertification examinations in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (CCEP). Board Review Course also provides preparation for the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) exams for electrophysiology (CEPS) and device (CCDS) certification.The course provides expert guidance on the essential EP curriculum. For those not preparing for an exam, this course is an excellent update and overview of cardiac electrophysiology.

Scholarship Application is closed

Received applications are time-stamped, and awards are given to qualifying individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will be notified as to the disposition of their application on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

Applicant requirements:

  • Must be an HRS member or submitted a membership application for review (submit an application here)
  • Completion of training must occur in 2016 or 2017 to qualify
  • Applicant cannot have received support to attend Board Review Course from other sources
  • Applicant cannot be a past recipient of an HRS Board Review Course scholarship

Board Review Course registration covers admission to all lectures and workshops, as well as course materials. Also covered are dinner on Wednesday, August 16, continental breakfast August 17-19, and lunches on August 17 and 18. The scholarship does not include transportation and lodging.

  • Describe the current guidelines related to evaluation and management of patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances
  • Describe the role of electrophysiologic testing in managing patients with bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias
  • Identify the advantages and limitations of diagnostic electrophysiologic methods
  • Identify the role of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies for the treatment of arrhythmias
  • Recognize the basic electrophysiology and genetics of inherited conditions associated with cardiac arrhythmias
  • Recognize clinical, electrocardiographic, and electrophysiologic characteristics of specific cardiac arrhythmia syndromes
  • Interpret complex electrophysiologic and electrocardiographic tracings
  • Interpret stored electrograms from pacemakers and ICDs
