John D. Day, MD, FHRS
Dr. Day is Medical Director of Intermountain Heart Institute near Salt Lake City, Utah. He also serves as Visiting Professor of Cardiology at Dalian University of Technology in China, and is the co-director of the HRS/Chinese Heart Society/Great Wall International Cardiology Congress Joint Symposium in Beijing. His research interests include the study of atrial fibrillation and Alzheimer’s disease.
He has published more than 100 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters, and lectures regularly both nationally and internationally on heart rhythm disorders. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management, and holds a patent related to three dimensional mapping of aFib.
Dr. Day is an active presence on social media. He communicates frequently on a range of healthy living topics via his website, newsletter, blog, podcast, and a weekly segment on the CBS affiliate in Utah. He is a sports enthusiast, including snow skiing, water skiing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and playing basketball with his family.
He speaks Chinese and earned a degree in Chinese from Brigham Young University. He obtained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University, and completed his residency and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at Stanford University.
