Dr. Ngai Yin Chan is currently an Associate Consultant in the Department of Medicine & Geriatrics in Princess Margaret Hospital in Hong Kong. He is also the Director of Cardiac Pacing Services and Co-director of Cardiac Rehabilitation Services in the same hospital. His major area of research is related to catheter cryoablation of cardiac arrhythmias, optimization of cardiac resynchronization therapy and alternate site ventricular pacing.
The author of 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts, he is also a manuscript reviewer for Circulation, the American Journal of Cardiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology and the Journal of Hong Kong College of Cardiology.
Additionally, Dr. Chan is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of The Open Pacing, Electrophysiology and Therapy Journal.
His outstanding professional performance and community contributions were recognized with the Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, 2006.
Dr. Chan received his MBBS degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1992 and trained in cardiac electrophysiology through the Hong Kong Heart Foundation Fellowship Award at Stanford University Medical Center from July 1999 to June 2000. He was conferred FACC, FRCP(Edin), FRCP(Glasg) and FHRS in the years of 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2012, respectively.
