EP 101: A Virtual Program for Incoming EP Fellows

EP 101: A Virtual Program for Incoming EP Fellows

EP101 is an essential and comprehensive introduction to the EP Fellows academic year. It is designed to augment fellows education while faculty discuss fundamental concepts necessary to understand electrophysiology. Topics included will focus on ablation, arrhythmia disorders, and device implantation.

Course Directors

N.A. Mark Estes, III, MD
Joshua M. Cooper, MD

Learning Objectives
  • Obtain an understanding of the electrophysiology of the human myocardium, sinus node, AV node and His-Purkinje system, and how to apply this knowledge to clinical situations.
  • Develop an understanding of ablation in complex arryhthmias such as atrial fibrillation, focal, macroreentrant atrial tachycardias, and ventricular tachycardias.
  • Review indications, limitations and risks of EP studies, their performance and interpretation in complex conditions.
  • Discuss indications for CRT-D, implantation considerations and management of patients with heart failure.
