Health Equity Abstract Award

Purpose

The DEI Abstract Award recognizes the abstract that promotes HRS’ commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.

This award is open to abstracts that involved research with a mission of narrowing the gaps in EP Healthcare, research performed at a granular level with a focus on HRS-defined underrepresented patient populations, research with a focus on inequalities in the application of available therapies in clinical electrophysiology, and/or research that highlights solutions on the plugged or leaky pathway for a woman and/or UREG.

Eligibility

This award is open to abstracts that involve:

  • Research with a mission narrowing the gaps in EP Healthcare (Basic Science, Translational Research, Clinical Research, Community Initiatives, Partnership with Industry)
  • Research performed at granular level with a focus on HRS-defined underrepresented race/ethnic groups (UREG) patients.
  • Research with a focus on inequalities in application of available therapies in clinical electrophysiology.
  • Research that highlights solutions on plugged or leaky pathway for a women and/or UREGs.

Awards

Award recipients receive:

  • Commemorative plaque
  • Cash award of $1,500
  • Complimentary registration to Heart Rhythm
  • Honorary mention at the Heart Rhythm Awards Ceremony.

One runner-up will be determined during the DEI oral abstract session at Heart Rhythm annual meeting and will receive a Heart Rhythm Society Abstract Award certificate, a cash award of $500, and honorary mention during the Heart Rhythm Awards Ceremony.
