March 4, 2025 – HRA/HRS joined the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) in submitting joint comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in support of a Medicare national coverage decision for cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) for heart failure.
While generally supportive of a national coverage decision, the societies also urged CMS to clarify the patient coverage criteria and highlighted additional areas for further research. CMS is anticipated to release a proposed coverage decision in July 2025, followed by another period for public comment.
