As Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Wurster leads the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), a 9,000+ member professional society, in its goal to end death and suffering due to heart rhythm disorders. Ms. Wurster rejoined HRS in March of 2026 and is focused on fulfilling the Society’s mission to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education, and optimal health care policies and standards.

Prior to rejoining HRS, Ms. Wurster served as CEO at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), a Washington, DC-based global healthcare organization serving more than 6,500 members worldwide. Ms. Wurster led the organization through extraordinary growth and transformation—increased the operating budget by 160 percent, increased membership by 40 percent, launched SMFM’s first-ever peer-reviewed journal, PREGNANCY, broadened advocacy efforts to elevate the voice of maternal-fetal medicine professionals worldwide, and expanded the organization’s staff from 17 to 38 full-time employees.

Prior to joining SMFM in 2021, Ms. Wurster served for more than a decade at HRS, where she held progressive leadership roles including Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. In that capacity, she grew the organization’s year-end surplus by 500 percent, expanded its peer-reviewed publication portfolio from one journal to four, and increased international membership by 100 percent. Earlier in her career, she held strategic marketing and planning roles at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Centers and held sales and marketing positions at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and Ford Motor Company.

Ms. Wurster earned her MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she graduated as Valedictorian with Highest Academic Achievement, and her Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University. She holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from ASAE and is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. She has been recognized with two Clio Healthcare Awards and the ASAE Power of ‘A’ Gold Award, and is a frequent faculty member at industry conferences including the ASAE Annual Conference and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). She resides in Maryland with her husband and son.
