Dr. Liu is the Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Services for the New York-Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Network in New York City. He leads Complex Arrhythmia Ablation and Structural Heart Electrophysiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, specializing in left atrial appendage closure, conduction system pacing, and complex ablation cases—including refractory atrial fibrillation—through a personalized approach.

An active clinician, researcher, and educator, Dr. Liu has co-authored numerous manuscripts and delivered invited lectures clarifying arrhythmia mechanisms and advancing EP procedural outcomes. He also serves as a peer reviewer and editor for multiple cardiology and electrophysiology journals and remains dedicated to training future generations of physicians and allied health professionals.

At the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS), Dr. Liu has been a leading voice in health policy and advocacy. As Chair of the Health Policy & Regulatory Affairs Committee (HPRAC), he was honored with the 2023 President’s Award for his efforts in advocating against CMS payment cuts for ablation services. He has also championed initiatives to enhance physician awareness of coding and reimbursement, expand EP services to ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and improve access to MRI for patients with CIEDs. His other leadership roles within HRS include serving as HRS Advisor to the CPT Panel, Chair of the Reimbursement & Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee, and member of the Scientific Sessions Program Committee and Education Council.

Born in southern China and raised in New York City, Dr. Liu blends humility with a passion for innovation and collaboration. He approaches challenges with a balance of idealism and pragmatism, using active listening and teamwork to drive meaningful progress.
