Dr. Morin is an electrophysiologist at the University of California San Francisco, where he serves as Director of the electrophysiology laboratory and the Samuel T. and Elizabeth Webb Reeves Endowed Professor in Arrhythmia Research. He trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital. He has extensive experience in several organized medical societies, and has served on several HRS committees and task forces, including its Committees on Clinical Guidelines, Education, Communications, Governance, Scientific Sessions, and Health Policy.
Dr. Morin’s clinical interests are in device-based therapy for cardiac dysfunction, and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias via medical therapy, device therapy, and/or catheter ablation. His research work investigates diverse subjects within electrophysiology, such as risk stratification for sudden cardiac arrest, atrial fibrillation, and new applications of pacing technology. He frequently collaborates with clinician-scientists from other subject areas as well. He was the Online Editor of Heart Rhythm and Heart Rhythm Case Reportsfor 5 years, and is now Deputy Editor of Annals of Internal Medicine Clinical Cases and Senior Contributing Editor for Circulation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology.
