He was awarded the inaugural British Heart Foundation Fulbright Scholarship as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford before completing clinical electrophysiology training in both the USA (Cedars Sinai/Good Samaritan Hospitals) and UK (Royal Brompton Hospital). He returned to the USA when appointed an Assistant Professor at USC in 2021.

He has served in multiple roles with HRS committees over the last decade, stemming from his selection by peers as leader of the Early Career Planning Team. Additional roles include the Program Committee, Travel Fellowship Committee, HRS Ambassador to EHRA, Awards Subcommittee, HRS Explorers Working Group, and the Governance Committee.

Dr.  Zaman has a strong belief that clinical skills are vital, even for highly specialized professions like electrophysiology. This is why he helped found the Society of Bedside Medicine whilst at Stanford to add a formal role to this passion. This means he has over 9 years of Board experience in a non-profit, managing an international meeting, formalizing educational curricula, selecting fellows to fund and financial balance sheet knowledge, which he will bring to this role.
