Dr. Tzou is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine and Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Colorado Hospital. She completed fellowship training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she stayed on for a year as faculty before moving to Colorado in 2011.
She is Associate Editor for Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, has been Associate Editor for JACC EP, and is on the Editorial Board for the Heart Rhythm Journal, and Heart Rhythm Case Reports. Her clinical practice and expertise include a comprehensive range of contemporary device and arrhythmia management, although her primary clinical and research activities and publications revolve around management and ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, and adjunctive strategies for improving ablation outcomes.
She was a writing group member for the 2019 HRS/EHRA/APHRS/LAHRS Expert Consensus Statement on Catheter Ablation of Ventricular Arrhythmias and is on the writing group for the anticipated Statement Update. She has additionally participated in multiple service roles within the Heart Rhythm Society since becoming a Fellow in 2012, including as Heart Rhythm Journal Subcommittee member and Vice Chair, clinical document and statement ad hoc peer reviewer, Scientific Sessions Program Planning Committee member, HRS Bowl Executive Planning Committee, HRS Governance Committee member, and HRS representative for mission-driven activities including the HRS/Asian-Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Leadership Meeting in Shanghai, China, in 2017, Emerging Leaders Think Tank on stroke prevention, and representative on Get With The Guidelines AFib Clinical Working Group.
