Despite advancements in technology, patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) continue to face barriers to MRI access due to outdated policies and institutional restrictions. In this interview, Robert J. Russo, MD, PhD, Chair of the Writing Committee, and Lindsey Gakenheimer-Smith, MD, Vice Chair, join #HRStv host Suneet Mittal, MD, FHRS to discuss the recently released HRS Scientific Statement: “HRS Call to Action – Improved MRI Access for Patients with Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices.” This conversation highlights key recommendations from the statement and explores how clinical practice and healthcare policy can evolve to better support CIED patients.
