Daniel P. Morin, MD, MPH, FHRS

Dr. Morin is an electrophysiologist and Professor of Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been active in organized medical societies throughout his career, holding leadership positions in the Massachusetts Medical Society, American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, and of course the Heart Rhythm Society. Within HRS, he has served on several committees and task forces, including its Committees on Education, Communications, Governance, Scientific Sessions, and Health Policy.

Dr. Morin's clinical interests are in device-based therapy for cardiac dysfunction, and treatment of diverse cardiac arrhythmias via medical therapy, device therapy, and/or catheter ablation. He is Director of Cardiovascular Research for Ochsner Health System and is Chair of the Ochsner Physician Research Council's Executive Board. He heads an active team of clinician-scientists, with his own work investigating diverse subjects both within electrophysiology and in other subject areas. He was the Online Editor of Heart Rhythm and Heart Rhythm Case Reports for 5 years and is now Deputy Editor of Annals of Internal Medicine Clinical Cases and Senior Contributing Editor for Circulation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology.

Dr. Morin lives in New Orleans with his wife, Serena, who is an elementary school teacher, and their son Blouin.
